At ctia, The CDMA CERTIFICATION FORUM reveals its ambitious objectives for 2008
The CCF is setting up the milestones for a new Global Standard Testing Process.
San Diego, Calif., March 27th, 2008 - The CCF (CDMA Certification Forum), a nonprofit organization that provides the most efficient time and cost to market certification process available to the CDMA industry today has announced its participation to the CTIA 2008 that will take place April 1st to April 3rd in Las Vegas.
During CTIA, the CCF will invite wireless professionals and journalists to come to its booth (5618) to learn more about the current initiatives the CCF is working on, among which an improved process that will allow CDMA vendors and operators worldwide to benefit from a single global certification that will further reduce time to market and testing cost.
“In 2007, the industry enjoyed the convergence of the CDG and CCF test organizations into one. In 2008, the CCF is integrating the best of both to deploy a single global device certification process”, says Thomas Erickson, President and CEO of the CCF. “This sets the foundation that will allow the CCF to support major CDMA industry initiatives going forward including open market handsets, inbound roaming, and open access.”
It is the commitment of CDMA industry leaders that makes the CCF the success it is today. Operators such China Unicom, Sprint, Starcomm, Tata, Telus, US Cellular, and Verizon Wireless provide the focus. Vendors such as Aeroflex, Alcatel-Lucent, Motorola, Nokia, Nortel, Qualcomm, Spirent, and Via Telecom work closely with the operators and make things happen.
“With such strong commitment of industry players from around the globe, the CCF is confident in the success of these industry initiatives, yielding further reductions in time and cost to market for everyone,” says Erickson.
The CCF is available today to 252 CDMA operators and 111 manufacturers in 99 countries.
